Kikinda disposes with 70.541 ha of agricultural land, which is 90.04% of the total area of the city and represents the most important resource.
Predominantly is represented crop production, but there are also good potentials and tradition for developing horticulture (Nakovo, Idjos, city Kikinda).

In Kikinda there is a state enterprise Ltd. Agricultural Extension Service, which provides advice and technical assistance to agricultural producers.
Industry
Great tradition of corporate business - in 1977 iron foundry from Kikinda, Serbia and Opel signs contract about joint venture and long-term cooperation in manufacturing valid for 15 years, 78,5 millions of US dollars have been invested in new established factory IDA-Kikinda.
In Kikinda there is potential and resources to develop the following industries: metallurgy industry, chemical industry, energy industry, food industry, building materials industry, textile industry.

Production of parts for the automotive industry - AD Foundry "Kikinda" member of the "CIMOS" Koper (Slovenia), "Le Belier Kikinda" (aluminum castings for the automotive industry).
Manufacture of machine tools - grinders "Grindex" Kikinda, and AD Foundry "Kikinda".
Engineering and various equipment for food, chemical and building materials industry, "NOVUM", Kikinda, "TIM" Kikinda, "Multipak" Kikinda, "Morar" Kikinda.
